Oversight

The Constitution grants Congress the authority and responsibility to conduct oversight over the executive branch. Committee Democrats are focused on holding the Administration accountable for acting in the best interests of all Americans, not just the wealthy few.

Education

The Department of Education is responsible for supporting the success of students and educators across the country. Committee Democrats are focused on ensuring the Department is fulfilling this vital role across all phases of education — from early childhood and K-12 education, to college and career education.

Labor

The Department of Labor is responsible for supporting the success of America’s jobseekers, workers, and retirees. This means ensuring American workers have access to fair pay, decent benefits, safe workplaces, and a secure retirement. At a time when workers are struggling to keep pace with the rising cost of living, Committee Democrats are working to hold the Department accountable for acting in the best interests of American workers and their families.

Health Care

Every American should have access to affordable health care. Committee Democrats are working to strengthen the Affordable Care Act and protect Americans and their families from Republican attempts to repeal or sabotage the landmark health care law.

Civil Rights

Protecting Americans’ civil rights is a critical aspect of Committee Democrats' work. This includes reforming our juvenile justice system, strengthening the prevention and treatment of child abuse, and protecting funding for programs that support low-income families.

Committee Democrats are also working to protect the delicate balance between religious liberty and civil rights—to ensure religious freedom is not used as a shield for discrimination against women, LGBTQ+ Americans, and religious minorities.
