The Committee's Response to COVID-19

The American people need and deserve a coordinated, fully funded, whole-of-government response to keep them and their loved ones safe from this pandemic. The Committee is working tirelessly to put workers, students, and families first and protect Americans’ health, economic security, and well-being.

The American Rescue Plan Act

On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act into law. This historic COVID-19 relief package invested $1.9 trillion to put:

• Vaccines in Arms;
• Children Safely Back in School;
• Money in People’s Pockets; and
• People Back in Jobs

Consolidated Appropriations Act 

In December 2020, Congress passed a year-end funding package that included significant and urgently needed COVID-19 relief for people across the country.

Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act

On March 27, 2020, the President signed the CARES Act, which provided desperately needed relief to students, workers, families, and businesses.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act 

On March 18, 2020, the President signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which provided comprehensive and immediate support to students, workers, employers, and families.  The bipartisan agreement took important steps to improve access to COVID-19 testing, prevent child hunger during school closures, and provide millions of workers and employers urgent relief.
