Chairman Scott Statement on Introduction of the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act
WASHINGTON – Chairman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott issued the following statement after House Democrats introduced the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act.
“The most effective way to help the American people through this public health crisis is to provide direct, immediate, and prolonged financial relief. The Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act will give students, workers, and families the support they need and provides substantial funding to hospitals that will help save hundreds of thousands of lives.
“Rather than giving money to corporations and hoping it trickles down to workers, this proposal targets relief to those who need it the most. Millions of Americans desperately need relief, and every day that passes without a major stimulus package will create more hardship for people across the country. This proposal would serve as a lifeline to our families, our communities, and our economy.”
