Protecting the Right to Organize Act

The American economy should reward hard work. But most Americans are working too hard for too little. When workers have the power to stand together and form a union, they have higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions.

The Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act will help hardworking people get ahead by strengthening the basic right of American workers by:

  • Introducing meaningful, enforceable penalties for companies and executives that violate workers’ rights
  • Expanding workers’ collective bargaining rights and closing loopholes that corporations use to exploit workers
  • Strengthening workers’ access to fair union elections and requiring corporations to respect the results
