Miller Statement Lauding New Affordable Care Act Enrollment Numbers

WASHINGTON—Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.), senior Democrat on Education and the Workforce Committee, released the following statement on this morning’s announcement of the November enrollment numbers in the Affordable Care Act’s health insurance marketplaces:

“After a slow start, the Affordable Care Act is proving to be a game changer for the many Americans who had previously been uninsured or underinsured. The 2.3 million Americans who made it through the online process of applying and being deemed eligible for health insurance in October and November have taken a major step toward protecting their family’s health. We’re also seeing clear progress in the number of people who are actually enrolling in a plan, with four times more people enrolling in November than did in October. The impact of these advances cannot be overstated. I look forward to working with the Obama administration to ensure that access to coverage under the ACA continues to improve, and that the law is implemented smoothly for new policyholders.”
