Chairman Scott Statement on the Nomination of Douglas L. Parker for Assistant Secretary of Occupational Safety and Health
WASHINGTON – Committee on Education and Labor Chairman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03) released the following statement after President Biden nominated Douglas L. Parker to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Occupational Safety and Health at the Department of Labor (DOL).
“Doug Parker is the right choice to lead the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. From helping run the Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration under President Obama to leading California’s Division of Occupation Safety and Health, Doug Parker understands what it takes to protect workers on the job, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the appointment of this well-qualified safety and health expert, workers will have yet another strong ally in the Biden Administration.”
