Chairman Scott Celebrates Success of the American Rescue Plan

WASHINGTON – Today, the House Committee on Education and Labor released a new video celebrating the success of the American Rescue Plan and the transformative relief it provided for students, workers, and families.

The American Rescue Plan, which President Biden signed into law on March 11, 2021, secured a historic $1.9 trillion investment to help communities recover from the pandemic. This investment has been critical to reopening schools, putting vaccines in arms, and helping people get back to work.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, schools were closed, businesses were closed, there was record unemployment, and hospitals were overwhelmed. The American people needed help,” said Chairman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott. “In the American Rescue Plan, we invested in families—from the bottom up and from the middle out.  As a result, we had the best economy that we’ve had in 40 years. This was made possible because of the proper investments in the American Rescue Plan.”
