In June, Miller introduced the Improving Nutrition for America’s Children Act, bipartisan legislation that would dramatically improve the federal child nutrition programs. The Education and Labor Committee passed the legislation in July.

George Miller (D-CA), chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, today issued the following statement after the Senate passed the “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act” “Our children need healthy meals to be able to grow, thrive and succeed in school and in life. Today, the Senate took an important step forward by passing their bipartisan legislation. I applaud Senator Lincoln and Senator Chambliss for their leadership to help get America’s families and children back on the road to healthy eating and healthier living.
